A ClinicalPosters Foundation Story
After spending more than 15 years as an independent contractor for Neutrogena’s (J+J) R&D Scientific Affairs department, Kevin began to feel a familiar tug: the sense that his accumulated knowledge shouldn’t remain siloed within corporate walls. Scientific insights, production experience, and education in human anatomy could help a wider audience.
In 2010, that idea became ClinicalPosters, originally envisioned as a portal for scientists and curious readers.
From Scientific Posters to Anatomy Posters
While still preparing conference posters for Obagi Cosmeceuticals, the new site expanded to selling medical human anatomy posters. This blended Kevin’s scientific background, fine-art training, and graphic-design expertise. He started designing the posters, but soon discovered that medical professionals relied on titles from specific publishers. What began with three clients soon grew to thousands. But there was more to share than images alone.
The ClinicalReads Scaffolding
To broaden the platform, Kevin began posting short summaries of health articles—initially linking out to external sources. When former colleagues encouraged him to write the articles himself, the next phase began.
Drawing on hundreds of scientific posters he had produced, he crafted original health articles enriched with clinical references. These pieces complemented the anatomy posters, providing deeper context or covering conditions not available in printed form.
As his writing matured, he developed a new style: embedding medical insights within evocative, narrative-driven stories. This made ClinicalReads both educational and deeply relatable.
To expand the library, Kevin commissioned a dozen doctors and writers who contributed to hundreds of articles across diverse health topics. He also published guest work on respected platforms like MedScape—further increasing ClinicalPosters’ reach.

As the site evolved, it required a growing number of custom features—many undocumented. In 2021, a new chapter began: ClinicalNovellas.
What started as a collection of fictional mini-novels with subtle health themes soon became an immersive storytelling ecosystem. Readers were entertained—and educated—through layered mysteries, dramas, romances, sci-fi arcs, and psychological tales informed by real clinical concepts.
Kevin quickly discovered that fixed word lengths were limiting. Some stories required more than 10,000 words; others revealed their heart in 1,000. To balance pacing and variety, he began alternating longer miniseries with single-episode short stories. This flexibility opened the door to new genres and creative directions.
Today, ClinicalNovellas adds more than a hundred episodes each year, becoming a vibrant ecosystem of fiction grounded in human physiology and psychological insight.
